The season of singing has come!
“See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.”
-Song of Songs 2:11,12
Amen. I love the spring. It infuses new life from the long, howling, cold, cloudy, and harsh winds of winter. It’s a welcome sight to finally see the return of the brightness of the sun and to feel its warmth touching up against my face. To behold nature. Glaring at the waves of the unfrozen waters. Looking in awe at the sheer beauty of flowers and eyeing the grounds all about me. Its landscape; so beautiful, crisp, and green.
The passing of winter and the new season of spring causes me to think of the Bible scripture passage found in 2Corinthians 5:17 which says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Beloved of God having said this, it’s my desire that in this new season upon us called spring, that you would take off and put away your heavy coat; symbolic of the old and the removal of heavy burdens. It’s your season to enjoy and appreciate “the new” that has come, that being the season of spring. Marked by its sun, warmth, beauty, fresh air, and new beginnings as such. Truly the winter has past, and your season of singing has come!
