Staff Consultant
Rev. Motoe Yamada Foor is an ordained United Methodist pastor with over 20 years of experience in local church ministry. Currently serving as the Director of Adult Discipleship for the United Methodist Church, Motoe brings a rich multicultural perspective to her role, having been raised in Japan as the daughter of a Zen Buddhist monk before embracing Christianity.
Motoe has a deep passion for guiding churches toward missional and spiritually focused ministry. Her leadership extends beyond local church contexts to the global ecumenical stage. She served on the World Council of Churches Central Committee, the National Council of Churches, and has been a delegate for the World Methodist Council.
Motoe is a certified coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Michigan State University and a Master of Divinity from the Pacific School of Religion. She is also a devoted mother of two and finds great joy in supporting her children’s activities.
